Unstoppable Korean pair seals gold at 2025 World Championship in Paris

Seo Seung-jae and Kim Won-ho, the world No. 1 badminton men's doubles player, won the World Badminton Federation (BWF) World Championship with fantastic teamwork.

Seo Seung-jae and Kim Won-ho defeated China's Chen Bo-yang and Liu Yi (11th) 2-0 (21-17 21-12) in the men's doubles final at the Adidas Arena in Paris, France. The two players, who won three of the four World Tour Super 1000 Series championships after forming a team in January this year, have added the World Championship to their major championship history.

Seo Seung-jae and Kim Won-ho showed a performance that overwhelmed Chun Bo-yang and Ryu Yi-jo on the same day. The two players, who played their roles perfectly with a firm belief in each other, showed a shrewd performance in both attack and defense. Seo Seung-jae and Kim Won-ho won both the first and second games, and confirmed the championship 40 minutes into the game.

Winning the World Championship is one of the goals the two athletes wanted to achieve most this year. This is why he focused on practicing even though he won the Malaysian Open, the Jeon Young Open, and the Indonesian Open earlier. Seo Seung-jae and Kim Won-ho won the championship, raising expectations for winning gold medals at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi and Nagoya and the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles (LA).

The driving force behind the two players' rise to the top of the World Championship is fast attack and defense.
